The acclaimed flamenco singer Estrella Morente will present, in an international exclusive at CAN REON, her new jazz fusion show—a tribute to the great women in the history of music. This performance also marks the beginning of a new album, set to be released in October and presented at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
But first, on Tuesday, July 8th at 9:00 PM, the lucky audience at CAN REON will have the chance to enjoy a special preview in an intimate, open-air concert. This new show is Estrella Morente’s heartfelt homage to the women in music who have deeply inspired her—a celebration of their legacy, talent, and values. She will be joined on stage by the OCO Band, a lineup of world-class artists including Rolling Stones saxophonist Tim Ries and flamenco singer Antonio Carbonell, who have performed with her in OCO The Show, a spectacular fusion of rock and flamenco acclaimed by both audiences and critics.
Estrella Morente is not only one of the essential voices of flamenco, but also an innovative artist with a universal reach. She has explored genres such as jazz, copla, tango, and electronic music, collaborated with international icons like Peter Gabriel, and published her own poetry collection Mis Poemas y un Cante. Honored with awards such as the Ondas Award, the Spanish Music Award, the Medal of Andalusia, and the Golden Microphone, she also leads the world’s first Flamenco Studies Chair. Thanks to her constant artistic evolution, she has won the hearts of both critics and international audiences.
